SKYE 2018. Syrian-Armenian and Local Youth Capacity Development Club – Admissions

Armenian Progressive Youth NGO invites Syrian-Armenian and local young people aged 18 to 30 to join the organization’s SKYE club. For the past year, SKYE has been gathering Syrian-Armenian and local youths together to develop and improve their skills and knowledge. After about a year of activity, we are glad to announce the launch of a new SKYE 2018 club.
SKYE is a youth club which involves 25 Syrian-Armenian and local youth. Selected young people have the opportunity to participate in seminars, trainings, and capacity building seminars once a week.
The main direction of SKYE 2018 is the development of entrepreneurial skills of Syrian-Armenian and local youth.

Club members will be able to:

  • Participate in workshops and social entrepreneurship trainings,
  • Get ​​business trainings and, if possible, get funding for the best business ideas;
  • Internship in “Armenian Progressive Youth” NGO allowing to implement practically the achieved knowledge and skills,
  • Become a member of the Armenian Progressive Youth NGO network and participate in local and international youth programs offered by the organization,
  • Get ​​acquainted with new people, make new friends and get more actively involved in social and youth programs.
  • Syrian-Armenian participants can get assistance in job placement.

The weekly meetings and the trainings last 2 hours. The trainings will be conducted by Armenian Progressive Youth NGO’s coordinators and trainers.
The goal of the project is to contribute to the integration of displaced and conflict-affected youth and their peers into Armenia, as well as to provide professional support to their livelihood through professional orientation, trainings, practical work and employment opportunities.

You can apply if:

  • You are a Syrian Armenian or a local person aged 18-30
  • You want to develop your entrepreneurial skills and knowledge
  • You are ready to give 2 hours once a week to club meetings

Time-frame:

  • Application deadline is December 20, 2017.
  • The results are expected to be published on 25 December.
  • The launch of the project is scheduled for January 10, 2018.
